Kim Poirier born on February 6th, 1980 in Drummondville, Quebec in Canada is a talented Canadian actress, television presenter and successful film producer.

Kim Poirier was born to actress, model and 1976 Miss Toronto, Carol Laquerre. Poirier grew up in Toronto as a child model appearing in several television commercials. Kim Poirier got trained in on-camera acting by David Rottenberg and Bruce Clayton, and further learnt Meisner Technique in acting from John Riven. She was trained in voice work by Rae Ellen Bodie and Francois Grise; and learnt Ballet, Tap, Jazz and dance from Jazz Be Nimble; singing and voice work from Elaine Overholt. She also attended workshops and seminars on acting.

A great athlete, Kim Poirier indulged in gymnastics, karate, athletics, track & field, water and snow skiing. She keeps herself physically fit by practicing yoga, meditation and jogging. She organized a workshop in 2004 on integrating yoga with that of acting. In 2006, she has been chosen as the Sadhana Commissioner at 'The Institute of Yoga Therapy', where she organized yoga classes, activities and special events. Kim Poirier has acquired expertise in dialects speaking French in Canadian and European dialect; and English in Stoneland, Cockney, Southern U.S. and Irish dialects.

A fitness freak and a hard learner, Kim Poirier quickly rose to fame in modeling world with her impressive portfolio of commercial campaigns such as Turtles Chocolates, Ontario Tourism, Bell Canada, Aquafresh, Ontario Place, Old El Paso, Ford, Toronto Eaton Centre and Pizza Pizza.

Poirier began her acting career with a role on a television episodic drama "PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal" {1996} and went on to appear in several television dramas like Straight Up" {1998}, "The Gavin Crawford Show" {2000}, and made-for-television films such as "Naked City: Justice with a Bullet" {1998}, "The Hunt for the Unicorn Killer" {1999}, "Danger Beneath the Sea" {2001}. She then bagged a recurring role of Roxy Hunter in "Paradise Falls" {104 episodes: 2001-2008}, which really put her on the pedestal of success in the entertainment world of acting. Poirier has since appeared in several movies and television shows and direct-to-video movies. She also hosted "HypaSpace, a weekly entertainment news program about the world of science fiction and fantasy on Space channel in Canada. She also co-hosted 05, 06 and 07 spaceys shows. Kim Poirier has also appeared on the covers of a local magazine, 'Our Neighbourhood'.
